Carefully placed gorilla tape over the visual warnings on the instrument panel, and a little more on the beeper underneath. Might not be able to hear the turn signal indicator, or the low pressure warning buzzer, but as long as you have a low pressure light you are fine. Both are not required.
If you have a stall warning system like a typical airliner I wouldn't disable it, unless you want to fly into the next mountain.

Any ECU can be altered,,,they are man made.
There are companies that reprogram ECU’s in the hot rod industry. We sent ECU to company in Michigan for programming when installing supercharger in a Ford Focus. ECU came back overnight express.

True but that's private use. Fooling with commercial vehicle stuff will likely get you in to a whole new world of #### legally.

Stay away from curbsniffers. Less crap and less drama. I’d spec one without or buy one that doesn’t have it when it’s time to buy.

It may sound childish, but if everyone stops running for guys that have this stuff, companies would stop spec trucks like that. Drivers and spare parts are the hottest commodity.

The thing that blows my mind is you can literally have 2 identical trucks roll out of the factory back to back. One with the collision mitigation and one without and you can't remove it. ####ing stupid. Its not even mandatory equipment.

    Omg, wow!

    liabilities?

seriously the dealers cant remove them unless the is replacement of a couple items in the abs system but the dealer can and does disable the bendix system.

It has to be disabled in both the ECM and the abs firmware.

You have to own the truck.

and there are no laws or regulations that says we have to have them.

just order a truck without it.

Is it so bad to have it?
Maybe it is a good thing to have for those who watch Netflix while driving or do anything else except watching the road.
If you drive not distracted, this system shouldn't be too annoying, I hope.

I don’t see how it would be illegal, I don’t even have ABS on my truck that runs every day never mind any of this crap

I drove one for a year. I figured out what most of the beeping was for............but
after a full year of doing my best to figure it out there were still times it would start
beeping......go absolutely nuts, and after a year I still have no idea why it was beeping.

I am not a full blown mechanic by any means.....but.....I have been around trucks my
whole life. My brothers wanted to be pilots.....I wanted to drive a truck. Worked on quite
a few trucks over the years.............give me a little time and I can usually figure out what
is wrong. Not this new "college-engineered" computer crxx. There is ABSOLUTELY NO
REASON for about 90% of the crxx being put into these new trucks. I am not apposed
to trying new things to make the highways safer.............but when "college educated"
dimwits who never drove a truck in their life start trying to design new stuff to control
something they know NOTHING about............well, clusterxxxx is what comes to mind.

I drove over the same overpass everyday...........I am on a 6 lane Interstate Hwy, 65mph
speed limit..............and about once a week when I crossed this certain overpass the
truck would go nuts. Claimed the speed limit was 35mph and I need to slow down.
Thankfully the company didn't care about such things but if I was working for a mega
carrier I would likely have been severely penalized because according to the computer
I was speeding. Same in construction zones......claimed I was speeding, or claimed that I
did a lane change...........it was literally IMPOSSIBLE to keep that POS happy.....so
eventually I learned to just ignore it.
