Anybody have an idea where I can buy a truck transmission jack for a full-size Eaton Fuller transmission that isn't going to break the bank?

Harbor Freight, just don't leave anything under it that you aren't willing to part with.

You know I just looked on their website and they have a new heavy duty 2000 pound Jack.

One of the reviews said he used it for his tractor trailer and had no problems.

Hey for $339 that would be great!

That's the one I have. Works perfectly.

Edit: Put a mudflap or something between the jack and the tranny though, or fab a custom cradle. Even with two straps, that thing slid wherever it wanted to.

If you want to use that 2000lbs harbor freight transmission jack you better be brave. It’s no more designed nor built for truck transmissions than I’m an astronaut. Even for the occasional it will get you hurt.

Some things you just don’t skimp on price.....or you pay with fingers possibly more. But a good OTC, or Lincoln jack if you want one and be done

OTC jack has never done me wrong. Keep the casters cleaned and lubed. Parts are available to repair when it breaks or if you decide to buy a used one. I dont think Id even consider another jack for heavy duty.

I used the harbor freight elcheapo. It’s a real flimsy piece of crap. Very wobbly. Tilt mechanism cheap bearings just fell out. Plastic gmhandl for tilt unscrews insted of in screwing the adjuster. But with a little bit of help with adapters , had it working just like a song. Use at your own risk. Trans must be centered and balanced. 2 big straps to hold it. It’s dangerous as hell. But as long as you stay out of the way, not too bad. I’d loan you mine, if close. It’s just sitting around looking for a purpose. Maybe lift up a whole side of a car someday.

Here’s a pic. Centered on the A Dapter kit I made. I’ll be home Monday. Shoot you some pics w/ tape measure. Also added washers to all pinions to take up slack, for less wobbling. Replaced fire-aft adjustment bolt with a grade 8. Use ratchet on it for adjustment, original cheap plastic hand knob and bolt is junk, wont even turn, with weight on it. 2nd pic, had the wife pull it with pickup Truck, while I steered it from the back. Lol. It went in amazingly smooth. Almost perfectly lined up all the bell housing bolts. I got Lucky. Jack forward-back Tilt was useless. Bad design. I jammed a 2x4 in it to keep it straight. You can make it into a good jack, but out of the box, it’s a safety hazard. Better suited for a car or light Truck transmission.
