I saw absolutely nothing that would even remotely lead me to believe there was any kind of unrest anywhere in the country and that included rolling through LA county and Chicago etc. Certainly nothing like what was being reported on. Not saying it wasn't bad, just that it wasn't as widespread and impactful as first thought.
I usually pride myself on actively avoiding both Cable and local news. If it wasn't for browsing this forum I wouldn't have even known about some of the rioting. Even so, enough got through to instill just enough paranoia to make me not want to leave home. I'm glad I ignored it and would urge you and others to do the same.Rocks, Linte_Loco, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this. -
I stay at PFJ reserved parking every night I'm away from home and never had a problem. Road ragers are a different matter.
A few monhs ago a gentleman in a small pickup appeared upset that I was in front of him while passing another rig, and for whatever reason decided that I needed to pull over and discuss the matter by pulling in front of me on a downgrade and slowing down so my front bumper was pushing him. I obliged and helped him get the rest of the way off the highway with my truck, and he proceeded to show me his Louisville slugger. I commented on what a beautiful bat he had, then asked how he liked my 20 gauge pump. He didn't like it at all and left quickly. Not sure if I offended him. The 911 operator that had been listening the entire time didn't know what to think either. When the highway patrol showed up after the driver left, I gave him the chip from my dash cam so he could determine if the driver was in need of assistance. Never heard what happened to him.Rocks, RockinChair, nredfor88 and 4 others Thank this. -

Most murders occur in large cities in bad neighborhoods involving gang violence or just general crime.
Stay at the truck stop and relax.
Even if you were attacked most people wouldn’t just watch it happen.
