Question... Have you or any other drivers here has had the experience about the APU at a temperature of 83 and increasing starting to struggle and just doesn’t have the strength or capacity for keeping the truck cool. I’m trying to pinpoint if it’s normal.

I would say that it’s not normal. Your APU should work just fine at 83*Silverdriver Thanks this.

These Carrier APU’s are the worst. Mine kicks off after about 5 min. of A/C. Shop has had it several times, pronounces it fixed and it does it to me first night out. My Thermo King NEVER had an issue in 3 years.Silverdriver Thanks this.

Sounds like campingSilverdriver Thanks this.

I’d still prefer to let the big boy purr vs sleeping next to this refer sounding thing but I’ve had descent luck with mine. A few times in winter it would just shut off well before the 10 hour limit and sometimes it wouldn’t stay running but they got it fixed fairly quickly.
I’m now having an issue when I plug it into electrical that it might run on low but not on high and the last time it wouldn’t run on electrical at all. So I’ll have them look at that but I’m rarely on the yard to plug it in so not a huge issue.
as to the 83 and up question, I normally have to have the middle curtains closed to cool the back half of the can but that seems to work ok for me.Silverdriver Thanks this. -
Working as a maintenance man years ago I know Carrier made good air conditioning units for houses and commercial buildings but for the APU right now I just can’t give them the 5 stars.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

It brought back a lot of memories from the days of being a Boy Scout. Lol
Hey i’ve been meaning to ask you do you still have that Puppy the one in your avatar. My daughter wants a dog and every time I look at your avatar it reminds me that I need to go shopping at the pet shop. Last time I check it was around $800 bucks for a dog!
I ran out the door and started looking into the locals. -
Yes we do still have him.
Best Dog Ever!!!
Pure Bred American Staffordshire Terrier.
(Yes, he’s a Pit Bull… they get a bad rap)
while he is a Pure Bred, we don’t have papers on him… just a DNA test that says he is.
Just a suggestion, skip the “pet store”
If you want a certain papered breed, look into quality Breeders for that Breed.
Or … better yet…
Rescue a Puppy from a local Humane Society. That’s where we got Haze and there are so many good dogs in rescue just looking for their own Forever Home. And it’s much cheaper.mushroom1464, Goldenfan, Boomer08 and 5 others Thank this. -
Yup. That’s where we got our two chi-weines. Both were heading to doggie heaven just before we took them.mushroom1464, MidWest_MacDaddy and Silverdriver Thank this.

We rescued our Chocolate Lab Ollie. Best thing we ever did. That look in his eyes that shines a thank you is indescribable.mushroom1464, mitrucker, Goldenfan and 5 others Thank this.
