I went through a lengthy medical odyssey. Will write you a PM when I get home today but the short story is you absolutely legally are entitled to keep your job and your health insurance (not COBRA or marketplace. I'm talking Knight/Abilene still making their contributions to your premiums) for at least 120 days even if you drive zero of those days if it's for medical reasons.
Before we were publicly traded and had to answer to shareholders, Abilene would have kept taking care of you much longer than that. Even in the current situation, you will be welcomed back any time that a doc says you're ready. AKJ and Kimberly will make sure of that, but even if they were gone, everyone needs drivers and that's not changing for a long time.

Dropped a Volvo load from Jacksonville at the fenced in area we have in SC. Good thing there were trailers there because otherwise Id not have known where to go. Gotta drive through another trucking company's yard to get to our area. Thankfully there were two empty dry vans and a reefer there so I didn't have to chase a trailer. Had me grab the reefer and load in Highpoint NC going to Manassas, VA. Load was rescheduled for Monday so dropping it on the yard tomorrow morning.

Deadhead up to Atlanta for a load going to Little Rock.
Get to shipper,to pickup a preload, and notice one of our trailers has an alarm on it,it's out of reefer fuel, and it's a frozen load, that was loaded 5 days ago.
Call up Abilene, they act like they don't have a clue, lucky for them it hadn't run out to long ago, because the temp wasn't to far out of range, grabbed it and fueled up.Last edited: Jul 23, 2021

Dropped my reefer load on the yard this morning and waited two hrs then got a DH move to Groveport BH, pick up an empty reefer at Gordonsville Walmart DC along the way. Get to the DC and no empty reefers in sight, where the empties are supposed to be. Call DM and she calls the planner and he gives a list of reefers that are supposed to be there and DM says drive around and check to see if they are there and loaded or empty. Found them all, in the section where loaded trailers go.....let my DM know and get hooked to one and rolling. Got two hrs local pay chasing empty reefers. Had some on the yard but guessing need to get trailers out of places. BH load to Columbia, SC next, not due til Monday though so getting a day layover pay on it. Had a choice of SC or GA BH load, picked the SC one cuz it is an easy back, lol!
Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy, Evomalo and 1 other person Thank this. -
