And my carrier’s safety and accident department told me the same thing the shop did, so I’m assuming they are correct. At some point I’ll get around to looking it up. Another poster said that it’s got to do with the “under ride” regulations that regulate the bumpers and trailer skirting. -
Did you call the police....?
-
D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Bad mistake.... unlike a truckstop a service plaza it state property and the police would make a report and ASSIGN fault.... that would require cfi insurance to deal with it... would also s
ASSIGN csa points to cfi...
In your case cfi OWES YOU repairs, loaner trailer AND "loss of income"
In your case I would find a "Ambulance chaser" in that area... call and see what they would charge to just SEND A LETTER to cfi demanding payment for the repairs, rental, and "loss of income" (downtime).... I did that when Schneider didn't want to pay my downtime. Cost me $200 to get a check for $8,500Speed_Drums, olddog_newtricks, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
How many days do you have to file a police claim . Some areas are 30 days that might get ball rolling.

D.Tibbitt, ProfessionalNoticer, markealy and 4 others Thank this.

If it was bent most likely fine but the cracks must be repaired by a certified welder -
Per certification I’m assuming a basic tech level certification like what’s required to do welding by any reputable shop/manufacturer.
I think it’s actually AWS D1 but I’m not a welder so don’t quote me on that.
the reason I know is because a year ago I failed an annual inspection due to one cracked weld on my ICC bumper.
Shop had no certified welders so they couldn’t fix it. -
