I use one of these. I throw it on the deck plate or on the trailer to warm up. When it gets dark I shower.
I’ve been in some pretty grody showers, but always wore sandals and had my own towels if needed and never had any problems. The real dirty people never shower anyway so it’s not like you have to worry about catching anything from them.
I've always showered at Love's and never ran into one that wasn't clean or sanitary. Never wore shower shoes. But I did always use sanitizer on my feet before my socks and shoes.
Loves is the worst they do swipe and wipe with others towels snd call it clean. you can scrape the filth off shower floors. bleach em every time
Yes one can pick up some nasty surprises off those shower floors, the only other option is I'd bring a bottle of bleach or some other multi purpose cleaner that destroys 99% of germs and splash that on the shower floor and wear flip flops while in the shower.
No shower shoes but do use cleaning peroxide on the shower before I get in. I do my best to only shower at the ones that I know get cleaned well.
Back when I started driving in 1970 a lot of the truck stop showers were communal just like the ones in your high school. 6 shower heads in a large area with no separation between them and some were even outside. Nothing fancy, no towels or soap given to you and I'm sure were not cleaned often. Times have changed and so have the showers. A lot fancier, towels and soap and private rooms along with more drivers. Most truck stops could use a dedicated person to keep the showers clean and ready but everywhere there is a shortage of people willing to work.
Not only are you spot on, But just stopped to take a shower at a Qwik star A nice regional chain of fuel stops with nice showers. Some piggy ### driver smeared fecal matter on the walls and mirror and the cleaning lady was rightfully pissed off and refused to clean it. So they were calling in a biohazard cleaning company. We have some real winners in this industry as well as in society.
