That's just a monitor, right, not part of the opti-idle system? If that is part of the opti-idle system, where is it because I have seen nothing like it on mine, and I would like to poke at it if I can look at it.

Just a Walmart battery powered thermometer.

I have a wedge from a hammer handle replacement kit. It's a PITA to get it just right every night and if you tape or glue it in place then when you shut the engine off, it recalibrates itself and throws a code the next time you start it. And with the brakes set, just putting a weight on the pedal red lines the rpms.

As predicted, I dropped my nice air ride trailer and picked up one of the old 837### spring ride catapult trailers...that is missing a mudflap. Not ripped off, the bolts were finger tight and had bright threads beyond the nut, so perhaps either a mechanic was in the process of replacing it and forgot to put a new one on, or someone stole it. The reason I went the theft route, I picked this load up in Austin and tried 4 truckstops (on a load I am not suppose to stop for 200 miles with) and they were sold out. Finally the T/A north of Hillboro, TX had some. I told dispatch that I had to break the 200 mile rule because I don't want an equipment citation and points on my record...they said they would inform the CSR...but I told them, after the last number of months, I could give a flying fornication if the customer gets pissed, right now, I am taking care of myself 1st

Get one of these from ChinaMart, turn off the truck, set this on the pedal (to the floor), start the truck, idle all night.

    Your welcome.

    At rpm's redline...my 18 wheel'd neighbors would riot.

I've tried all sorts of props, sticks, wedges. At some point during the night, this truck does a regen. When it does, this thing will shake the fillings out of your head. I can't leave anything on the edge of the nightstand that will spill because it'll end up on the floor. Likewise anything propped holding the throttle like a stick or a wedge. I did get a wedge to stay if I put a piece of that green stickey pad under it, but it idled at 1100, and when the engine fan kicked on, it was way louder than any of the old Detroits that had to idle that high.

Honestly, I think the best solution is to move on to a company that has driver friendly equipment, with an APU. Then Shaffer can hire a seat-warming steering wheel holding academy graduate to take my place and make more of their precious profits because they won't have to pay for my experience.

You need to call FCC. You mentioned your pay earlier, I'm on pace to make $83k this year and home EVERY weekend. Guys like you who don't mind staying out for extended times could do much better obviously.
