Arrow Trucking reportedly closes its doors

Can you really say drivers were clueless about what was going on ? I'm not defending the owners but if they gave advance notice shippers probably would have quit using them .

 

You think it only happens to trucking companies?

I worked for a company that was struggling back in 2001 after 911. They struggled till July. We went to lunch and they told us. We were gone that day.

 

Sometimes that writing on the wall is hard to read. I have friends from Sitton, OTR and in the office. And from talking to them, they didn't have a clue, until they showed up for work one morning.
They had problems, but like most they just thought it was tough times, and would get through it. But of course they higher ups knew better, but wouldn't share it. I know from experience, that when the big wigs want hide something, they are pretty good about. We were sold out a couple of years ago, used to think they couldn't keep secrets around, but hey darn sure did a good job with that too. Those big wigs are just a bunch of vermin.

 

They go to vermin traiing courses. Unfortunately, they are mostly in power.

 

That's right . There was a Chevrolet dealership in KY that had the bank show up and demand they hand over the keys immediately . The place was locked up with customers' cars inside for service . The Attorney General had to step in to get the bank to allow the dealership to open for 2 weeks to get the cars serviced and out of the shop . Several customers that bought used cars there couldn't get titles because the equity owed when they were traded wasn't paid off . The previous owners were still liable for the loans .

 

Yes sir in this area we do need more regulation. It should NOT be legal to strand drivers away from home, at the very least unless they were terminated for breaking dot rules. End of story. Now we have drivers, some of whom are thousands of miles from home 3 days from christmas. That is NOT OK.

An employee said they hadn't been paid in a month, read in another article that paychecks were bouncing, so the writing would've been on the wall, but still, stranded without money any time of year is awful

 

Sorry, but it cannot happen.

The company was struggling for many months. I saw the writing on the wall and commented about it.

If the drivers cannot see it, then they must deal with it.

The government is not responsible for mismanagement issues.

Besides, just because they would put a regulation in place, does not mean it would be followed.

 

SILVER LINING -- All you folks with a bad DAC, because of arrow, will be cleared. May take a month or two..........

 

I worked for a Bristol Myers Squibb warehouse back in 2000. We didn't discover that BMS had sold all their warehousing out to a third party logistics company until AFTER it was in the newspaper one Wednesday morning. Sure, we weren't stranded far away from home like these unfortunate Arrow drivers, but the fact remains that if corporate fat cats want something kept hush hush they will.

Laws won't work. There's a loophole in every law. Look at all the CEO's who sailed away in their golden parachutes over the last couple of years. It's absolutely pathetic.
