I'm planning to see the second doctor today who passed me and ask him. The hydrocodone is no longer a current prescription, so I saw no point in telling him. I also didn't see any point of telling him about the first exam, since it was not complete and the location was chosen and paid by Roehl. I figured I would go pay out of pocket somewhere else as a second opinion, use the certificate to get my permit, and then apply to a different company or companies. I just wasn't sure if I should finish the first one, because I didn't want to burn the bridge with Roehl (it's not their fault that the examiner was a jerk). I understand the need for caution when it comes to drivers; I get it. But this examiner went overboard. I was tired of getting the runaround from that medical facility. I had planned to be on the road by now. My recruiter had told me to get a statement from my doctor clearing me to drive before I went into the exam the first time. I did so, and the examiner ignored it. For all I know, I could be doing all this running around just for him to fail me anyway. I was tired of wasting my time with that place. After all this time, I just started to think that maybe it was better to go with another company that isn't 5 states and a taxi away. I also didn't know that Swift had a veteran's scholarship that would pay for school (since my GI bill was already used when I got out of the military in 94). It seemed like a better option than Roehl, I just didn't know that until recently (Swift's mobile version of the website doesn't show all the information like the regular site does). My brother in law also said Swift would be better, because they are one of the largest companies and will always have the freight to move and miles to keep you busy.
More than one medical certificate? is this legal?

YES, ALL physicals are unofficial until that ME actually sits down and enters the information on the FMCSA portal setup for them.77fib77 Thanks this.

I'm going to try to give you some sage advice! Not trying to come off as some jerk or knowitall! You BEST leave well enough alone and stay away from either of these MEs. If you have a physical you are OK. Don't go looking for trouble because either of those MEs can cause you MAJOR headaches with the FMCSA!

I agree, which is why I went elsewhere. So basically, I shouldn't even bother with the first one. I figured the first one would just be dropped after 45 days of being "Pending Determination". Just tired of being delayed. I've been studying for my permit the past month, and I'm ready to get going.jason6541 Thanks this.

What happens after the 45 days of Pending Determination? Does it fall off, or does the ME enter it in as Disqualified? Will that screw up the certificate I now have?

I don't think negatively about you, and I appreciate your help and wisdom.
The second examiner was kind and professional unlike the first one who treated me like a worthless dirtbag. This is my first time going through all of this, and I didn't want to shoot myself in the foot. I'm ready to work and learn. I've been ready for the past month. -
Before I give you an answer I want to make a general comment to EVERYBODY!
This is what happens sometimes when you fail to disclose information. I have lost count of the number of comments I have made about databases. There are more databases keeping information on people than we often even think about. I live in Virginia and about 2 years ago I had a non-VA Physician give me a prescription for 20 Percocet's! I had the RX filled took one and forgot about having them. Then during one of my VA appointments, I had a form to fill out and I said I had no history of taking Narcotic painkillers. The VA-Doc after checking the state database said I had lied! It is VERY easy to have these databases trip you up EVEN in an innocent situation.
Now to my answer.
LEAVE IT ALONE! If the FMCSA later kills your current physical THEN get all your medical information and get a 3rd physical and disclose EVERYTHING to that ME! -
Let it be, move on leave it behind

Thank you. I liked what Roehl initially offered, but after all the waiting I started finding more negative things about the company. Most agreed they have good training, but it was months later people complained about. I didn't consider Swift at first, because of the "reputation" of bad drivers and some said their training was bad. Later I learned that their training is basically the same as the rest, and the number of bad drivers was only because Swift is a much larger company.

Being treated like a worthless douche bag is part of the training. It desensitizes you to the way some shippers and receivers, security, DOT, your company, brokers etc may treat you out on the road.
MadScientist and Redtwin Thank this.
