I recently got my class A cdl from a school (had my class B previously for 3 years), and I need help finding a local / or regional trucking company to work for. I'm in the Pittsburgh, PA area and I'd love to work for a LTL company (like Estes, OD, Fedex, etc) or a Tanker company (Source One, QC, etc) but most of these companies need experience.
I've been looking into ECM Transport, Central Transport, Veltri Trucking, etc (most of these are local but the reviews aren't great), anyone have experience working for any of these companies or have any better ones to mention that'll hire me?
I've talked with Schneider but their pay for training ($80 / day) isn't worth leaving home for 5+ weeks...
Help! Starter Local / Regional trucking companies in Western, PA?

You might try Air Ground Xpress in Clinton. A regional air freight company, you’ll run multiple stop freight to airports in New York, Newark, Chicago, Philadelphia or Washington. You’ll make your drops, take your 10, do some pick-ups then head back to Pittsburgh. They do run at night, which may be a deal breaker. The plus is you’ll be getting into the airport areas before morning traffic and leaving after evening traffic. It’s not for everybody, but you can make a decent living and still have a decent home life. Check them out at www.airground.com. Tell ‘em Tom McE sent ya.

I work for Fedex Freight and if you have a center near by. If you havent talked to management in the center, i would do that first. Companies are short drivers and with your class b experience and a class a. It may change their minds.
MOBee, Chinatown and LeGendofSeven Thank this. -

Also the B trucks I drove were 70k gross in weight (cleanfill) and I've driven reefers before / bumped docks with electric pallet jacks. -
