My experience so far has been Ok. Just got home for Christmas and spending time with the family. There were a lot of student drivers in my orientation class and even more lease ops. I think right now if you lease on with USX you'll be getting a new Pete with a $800 a week payment. Not sure what all is included with that payment. I got a 07 Volvo and it seems to be a good truck. 440k miles on it so im not sure how long i'll be in it. I know the lease is a 12 month lease with a buy out option at the end. You get a $2400 completion bonus but all the money you put into your maintenance account stays with USX.
I'm just a company driver so i dont know much about the lease aspect at USX. My only problem so far is the E-Logs we have to run. I'm sure it will get easier but time will tell. My DM seems to be a good guy but its hard to contact them at night and on weekends. Dispatch must play cards at night and forget to check their messages.

please forgive me, but what are E-LOGS? is that some kind of paperless log system?

No, they are too busy watching tv or surfing the net. It seems like the night people are only there when they want something and they want an answer asap. You cannot answer their messages when moving; so it is either finding a place to pull over or use your cell. But if you YOU need something, be prepared to wait a long time for an answer or wait 20-30 minutes for them to answer their phone, and then talk to them for 20-30 seconds.

I plan to start with US Xpress on the 11th of January. I have 18 months of OTR experience, but been off the road for the last 9 months. I plan on being a solo driver, driving all 48 states and possibly becoming a trainer after the 30 day period. I'm just curious, how are the miles so far?? Overall, is US Xpress a good company to work for?? How is their orientation process??

kinghunter you will take your driving test on sunday hotel is one exit away from yard. they do have motel shuttle and us express shuttle. there is a walmart near hotel also a good buffet chinnese food. most of the week will be just checking your papper work while you sit in class. if all goes well you will have a truck on thrusday. as soon as you get your truck call FM try to get a load out as fast as possabile. if you get stuck there friday you might spend the weekend.
