Any Arrow driver in DFW area-will help.
GuysLady, kickin chicken, Baack and 2 others Thank this. -
I know we are all trucking related, but flatbedders bond more than other drivers. I think that is one reason why the skateboarders are more drawn to arrow right now than other co's that went under. That and it is just a few days before Christmas. It is good to see how many truckers are reaching out right now. That says a lot when times are bad. Truckers may clash from time to time, but they are still there for one another when need be.
My hat is off to all of you who have offered help to them. I have met with a few arrow drivers before. The last one I talked to was at the TA in cartersville ga. She was a female trainer and was training her daughter to go solo. We were all doing a restart there and I talked with them quite a bit. They were really nice. I hate to see any driver lose their income.Brickman, GuysLady, kickin chicken and 7 others Thank this. -
I just talked to my friend... He went to Enerprise to rent a car to get back home.. told them what happened and about drivers being stranded... They upgraded him to a minivan at no extra charge and gave him a discount as well...
He is out east and heading to the midwest and has room for other drivers... He is willing to go out of his way to pick you up and get you home....
PM me... I am in constant contact with him...Baack, SweetSouthernRide, kajidono and 3 others Thank this. -
OK guys.
I got an email from my bud Tommy right after I posted here. Man does this suck!! Do these people even HAVE a #### heart?? I believe there is a special place in hell for people like this.
Anyway Tommy said there was an Arrow guy stranded in Burlington, N.C. at the TA off
I-40 because they canceled his fuel card. (###HOLES!!) Tommy asked me if I knew anybody who could take him to the bus station in Greensboro and that the drivers wife had bought him a ticket by phone and all he had to do is get there before the bus left. I was heading out anyway so Tommy gave me his cell # and I told him I would be there in about an hour and a half. (it's about 60 miles from my house)
I picked the guy up at the TA and gave him a ride back to Greensboro. His name is Kenny and he has a wife and 3 kids. He had not ate all day because he said his Com Check had been voided by the company. I stopped by Burger King and got him a meal so he didn't have to ride all the way back to Kentucky starving. We got to the bus station and I dropped him off and he thanked me many times. I told him it's no problem and if he ever saw me stranded on the road he could return the favor. He assured me he would. Kenny has been driving for 7 years now so I think he will get on some where pretty quick.rookietrucker, bullhaulerswife, LavenderTrucker and 6 others Thank this. -
I cannot even BEGIN to put into words how I feel when I read this thread. The heartbreak that this is causing to so many familes.. and the pride when I see all who have offered help, and those who have helped...
Just seeing this is an experience that restores the soul.otherhalftw, SweetSouthernRide, kajidono and 2 others Thank this. -
Ladies and Gentlemen, I absolutely MUST go get some sleep. I will be back in about 3 hours to do a quick check in for Private Messages.
Thank you all for your kind, wonderful giving hearts!hauliday Thanks this. -
I was heading to Greensboro anyway which is about 20 miles north of Burlington. I just couldn't leave the guy there being Christmas and all. Kenny said he didn't get paid this past Friday when he was supposed to. He said he had very little for his kids for Christmas. I called our church Deacon about 2 hours ago and he said the church would call in a $200.00 pledge to Toy's-R-Us so he could go there tomorrow and get the kids some gifts. I know it's not much but he can get them a little something at least.

Way to go Smurf!!!
I know you made my Christmas a lot happier. And you have a great one too.

I can sympathize with these drivers about getting home for christmas.
In 06 my truck broke down in eastern IA on my way home for the holidays. I got towed in off of 80 to the dealer's shop right before they closed the gates for their holiday. Tow truck driver dropped me off at a motel. By now its about midnight. I spent several hours looking for a rental car. NADA!!!! By now I'm resigning myself to spending the holidays in a motel far from home.
I went to bed and in the morning talked to a neighbor of mine that had family in IA. He called a friend and that guy called a friend and that guy knew a friend that had a spare car. These two guys brought me a car almost 2 hrs one way from their home, picked me up at the motel, filled the tank with gas and sent me on my way.
I walked in the door of my house at 11:45pm christmas eve.
So yes I can relate.
Every body here and else where that is helping these drivers get home for Christmas, congratulations. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around. And in paying it forward.
