Consider everything those recruiter to be lies. Most likely they are. Do some research and narrow down some companies. Try to catch some of their drivers and fuel stops and talk to them.

This . Try to find a driver that's been with a company for awhile and the "new" has worn off. One thing to remember, the harder the recruiters push is a sign of how desperate they are to fill seats. If they can't keep drivers there's always a reason...or a lot of reasons.
The really good companies seldom recruit drivers. They don't need to.Dale thompson and bzinger Thank this. -
Chinatown no sir I recently moved out to pa Im looking into hirschbach and this one small independent company offers 68 cpm

EVERYTHING the recruiters say is a lie. Ask questions of current drivers at any company you are considering. When asking questions try to hide what answer you would like to hear. For example, don't ask 'do they pay good?' Rather, ask 'what is your normal paycheck?' Where do you run, who is the health insurance provider, etc.

It’s hard. You go somewhere you think will work for you and it doesn’t. Everyone is hiring. Move on

Choosing a company is like choosing a wife. You ain't going to get everything, so you have to decide what you value the most. Those are qualities that you can't live without in a partner, or in this case a company. Whenever I was in the market of looking for a company, I was most concerned with freight, miles, and equipment. I'm looking at companies that run a large portion of the USA if not all. I'm looking to see if they have customers. If they use broker freight, I'm curious as to what kind of relationships they have with those brokers. When it comes to equipment, it don't have to be the newest, but well maintained will tell the story to me. Most companies are pretty much the same, but the company you choose has to be the one that sets itself out from the pack, in your mind, just like when you choose your wife. You screw around with a 100 women, but it will be that one that sets herself apart, and you enter, then develop a marriage.

I know of a driver who's doing well at Hirschbach. I think a driver could really do good things there. They go all over the country, they have drop and hook, and they have the fire power to get you home if needed, because of their size and coverage area. He's been working for them off and on for years. He went back to them about a year ago after having to deal with personal issues. If I were looking, they'd be on my shortlist.
