So it is a moot point, especially if you go with Swift.
They will do a new medical, no matter if you have a valid card or not.

I think the issuing 'doctor' report each certificate to a database or authority. In my state the 2nd Medical cancels the first Medical when state is notified of #2. But I would certainly follow your state's self-certification procedure exactly with #2 so as to minimize possibilities of a state bureaucracy SNAFU. I think my state has maybe a 10 day window after exam when state expects to receive notice (from you???) of a new Medical.

NO, The states have NOTHING to do with the validity of the medicals. This is 100% on the FMCSA. The ME once they finish a physical sit down at a FMCSA entry portal and enter the physical. If later a 2nd ME enters another one the first one is either voided or the FMCSA will investigate doctor shopping and will void both. All the states do is make sure the physicals tied to the CDL are valid and handle the driver's certification of license status. That is it!

Wow, stick to answering the question asked, there must be a round table discussion at the petro and all the stars aligned and we got all the super trucker school grads in. He doesn’t have a CDL yet so he’s not committed a felony..the ME has no time or obligation to fill a physical with some top secret government agency, you self verify with your state to maintain your CDL..follow that “you self verify with your state” I’am sure the first place you went to wants to make sure your not a dope head and that’s there right, that’s why it’s pre employment drug test physical test. You can’t register a DOT physical with the state because you don’t have a CDL yet. If I were you when you get a CDL go get your physical and fax or email it to your state to be applied to your CDL. Then when you apply for jobs you only have to take a pre employment drug and or alcohol test and there physical test if they make you, you already have a dot physical if they say you can’t use the one the government says you need I suggest you get a job application from some of these other unemployed lawyers and colleges professors on here!! 4 pages of wasted space on something so stupid..I can’t believe I read all 4 pages but I’am glad I did or I might have missed the post that said your state has nothing to do with your DOT physical period..the State only tells you when there taking your CDL away because you didn’t self verify your DOT physical with them…perfecto doesn’t get any better then that piece of advice. Keep up the good work guys sometimes I need a pick me up to finish out the day!

What did you do! Have a bad day and decide to come in here and make a post dumping on these comments? First off your snarky comment aside the ONLY way for a medical to be legal is for it to be entered into "some top secret government agency, " as you called it. For the purposes of requiring a medical card, a CMV is defined as anything over 10,001 pounds GVRW! That state self-certification process is DOES NOT have anything to do with getting a medical card.

Listen I'm not a staff member and to be honest your comment is not only NOT needed as you typed it, but it is also mostly WRONG!

26001 lbs air brakes.. so according to you my 1ton is licensed for 16,500 lbs so my wife needs a CDL?..and sorry for hurting your feelings but you still have no idea what he asked and all you need is 80 dollars cash at the wonderful world of Walcott truck stop and a fax number to your state dot office and within 2 hours your free to drive. all your other government agencies you speak of mean nothing to me FMSCA sends me letters once in awhile to tell me our score is awesome and nobody has ran anyone over and your mc/dot# is still active. But I believe you missed the point of his question and the amazing other 19 post that weren’t relevant to the question either! He has no CDL so no “doctor searching” or what ever that crap was get your physical self verify it every 2 years and trust me you need a CDL to tie it to he doesn’t even have one yet!! Have a wonderful day and do they still offer the double up chicken fried steak, haven’t been to petro in years!

I'm going to do two things! First I am going to add your comment to my ever-growing lists of dumb comments and then ignore you! This kind of ignorance you are showing might be contagious!
