try driver solutions they use private schools and will get you hired by someone. the nice ting is they get you the cdl and it makes it easy to get on even without experience. But thats all it is a way to get the cdl. you'll learn the real stuff on the road.

I talked to Squire about 3 months ago. They told me that if you are a recent graduate of a CDL school, it has to be within 60 days ogf completion. I've had my CDL since Feb. 08, and they will not take me. Even for a refresher course.

i'm heading to Roehl this June... You'll find ggod and bad aabout them all. Do research and make an educated choice.
Roehl, Millis, Swift, Stevens, central there are a handful of training programs out there.
Good luck! -
That's right schnider needs 3 moths exp to drive for them

Werner sucks bad (ive been a werner driver for nearly a year now!), but they are one of very few companies that actually have a training program that ...has a posibility of resulting in decent drivers. You also get a $500 bonus if you stay out for the full 300 hours of training, or you can take a week of paid time off after the first 150 hours. Nice thing is that for the most part you get to go solo right after training. They try to force people in some areas at some times into teaming but you're always solo qualified after training.....if your codriver hitchikes home you're not stranded...
I got trained at CRST, there deal sucked...you drove 3 weeks, whether you actually drove or not at all, 3 weeks was 3 weeks.
Then you had to team drive for 6 months before you are qualified at all. If your codriver abandons you/truck/load somewhere, you're stranded. Now tell me, what good does it to me to drive with some steering wheel holder with no clue at all and go to bed every day not knowing if im going to wake up or not? There's quite a few companies with the same deal, not sure if others actually leave you stranded for weeks at a time, IN A TRUCK, with no pay, like they do though....
CRST also has a habit of suing other companies for hiring their drivers. No other company has quite the reputation for it that they do. Every other company, even the very smallest carriers are scared to death to hire you if you admit that you owe them money, even though the legal precedent was that those companies knew that these drivers were under contract with CRST, etc, and actively stole them away from the company when they still worked there...
Sad that nobody has balls anymore...
Funny thing though, contract never said you couldnt work anywhere else. I had to lie a little to get back in trucking.
That said, i dont reccomend any of this at all. Company sponsored training is a horrible way to get a cdl. You're better off any other way.
