Tomorrow We leave for Miami. The Keith Whitley song Miami, My Amy is running through my head already. Never cared much for that song. Trying to change my channel, it’s no use.

1400 hrs, mandatory evac for all of South Lake Tahoe to NV state line. Fire has breeched the summit and is burning down slope into Christmas Valley. As predicted winds are increasing pushing the head of the burn to the east.

You remember when that guy planted a bomb in Harvey's and wanted 3 mil to not set it off. Watched it go off on live tv.

The Harvey's Resort Hotel bombing took place on August 26–27, 1980, when several men masquerading as photocopier deliverers planted an elaborately booby trapped bomb containing 1,000 pounds (450 kg) of dynamite at Harvey's Resort Hotel (now "Harveys") in Stateline, Nevada, United States.[1] After an attempt to disarm the bomb, it exploded causing extensive damage to the hotel but no injuries or deaths. The total cost of the damage was estimated to be around $18 million.[2] John Birges Sr. was convicted of having made the bomb with a goal of extorting money from the casino after having lost $750,000 there. He died in prison in 1996, at the age of 74.

That is th NV side....The casinos should be safe....trees not a threat surrounded by concrete and asphalt...even the golf course (Edgewood) should come through with minor damage due to distance between and fuel availability. If the fire reaches the lower valley, most all homes are wood frame and mobile in construction, not saveable due to fuel sources and proximity to structures.
