That turn is tight pulling a tanker, I can't imagine doing it with a 53 footer.

I was pulling something that long I'd have taken 80 north from the Interstate and gone straight across 183. Whoever issued that permitted route needs some, ahem, "retraining."

Lokks like the blade driver cut through the parking lot of the gas station

I don’t see any other way to hit the signal pole with the blade .

Friend of mine with wrecker service helped clean that up. He’s there or another wrecker service at least once a week to help these guys make the turn.

It is the only approved oversize route off of I-10 in that area. There is a better one but guess what. The hipsters and green wokesters who have flooded the area rallied TXDOT against it.
They want the turbines to power their prius and tesla chargers but they don't want to open the gate to let them through.

Union Pacific has stopped freights before to allow the blades to cross if they are running a few across at a time. Amtrak is the ones to watch out for on that line.

The route you get may not be be best one. Have been routed through construction zones, called the permit department. And pointed out a truck route, no construction. Thier answer was , it must be ok .

I heard another driver went through there many times, but from a different direction/turn. Was it even possible to get on the road going straight through beforehand? I know they surveyed it, but if there are any intersections like that, seems like a good idea to try imo

My dispatcher had 20 “incidents”in 1 month doing blades. 19 minor scratches. But still

ATS will let anyone do it. I told them no. I’m not messing with them. Thank god they’re moving to tri axles now. So I won’t be able too soon anyway

I like to move and get home whenever I want. Not a fan of those project commitments
