Those rates in that settlement don’t appear to be contracted rates. I’m not calling the owner a liar but those rates look weak for contracted freight. Especially if you are having to D/H back.

That’s right, looking at the boards, tells you that. Not just hit and miss freight is up, but steady freight that has to go is way up.

Being in Waco, there has to be some good paying Loads, maybe not as good outgoing. But I can tell you for sure, plenty of stuff going into Texas paying real good from Louisiana. Lafayette’s less than 400 miles from Waco. From the sounds of the Stuff you’re hauling now, it’s got to be paying real good. Loads of plywood and mulch are paying good. Specialty Flatbed is much higher. Local runs are expensive everywhere. The Truck has to make a Market rate, to move it. It’s hard to believe the Companies only making what they claim. Since I really don’t know, That’s all I’m going to say. No need to gamble, and guess. Look at the boards for yourself, make a plan. You’ll be much happier. So will your wife.

I just did a search- Waco Flatbed, dry van or Reefer. Nothing specialized, or anything. There’s so many 75-200 miles trips available it’s unreal. Plenty of others a little further, paying $1000 and up, along with Loads paying thousands of dollars. Do yourself a favor, check it out. It’s a no brainer. I know, everyone knows, Loads into TX. even from just the surrounding States pay much better than loads originating in TX. Oil fields, pipe, fluctuates. Still as a General rule, you’ll probably make more coming home. Being able to pick, choose which Loads put together for your benefit is key. You’ll have a lot of choices. You already bought the Truck. I’m assuming not from the Company you’re with now. As it is, you’re barely going to make a living, and will only go further into debt, when the Truck needs maintenance. And it will, maybe $12k a yr. just maintenance, without any major repairs. Been there myself. Never going back.

So having had a good little stink on it

    1. Your paycheck isnt right, how they're respond to that will tell you a lot

    2. 230$ trailer rent, thats a 1000$ payment on a trailer a month, get a note on a 20k trailer and OWN it in 2 or 3 years at the same price

    3. Get away from their company fuel card if possible, the fuel at 200$ was 75 gallons? If it was less then mudflap saves you money basically 5 minute setup... showing 2.71/gal near waco

After looking at your settlement , you sir a getting a raw deal.

My regular load pays 1200 on 150 loaded miles, zero dead head & 1 pick 1 drop. 3 of these loads a week would gross me 3600 and still allow me to be home daily. Typically i deadhead home but sometimes will stay out and look for good loads in the area.

Your numbers and the amount of work you are putting in do not align which it is clear you are starting to notice.

Your deductions are extremely high for a carrier that takes 25%, charges you for a trailer and non self dispatch intrastate.

Staying with that company you will fail and only a matter of time.

Others have suggested trying DAT or Truckstop as a trial free for 30 days. Do that immediately.

Don’t walk, run away from that company.

What happens to the escrow if you quit them? Also is it your truck or you buying from them?
