4 car rollback tow truck need cdl driver?

    Someone can tell me if I will need a cdl to tow cars with a 4 car rollback tow truck

    You need a cdl if a combined gross weight of that setup is 26k lb or over.

    Yes, minimum of a class B as the truck will be at least 33,000 pounds gross vehivle weight rating. If you hook anything with a rating over 10,000 pounds on the wheel lift you will need a class A.

    Actually that's not entirely accurate. You can be at 36,000 lbs and not need a CDL. 26,000 for the power unit and 10,000 for the trailer. One pound over on either is CDL required.
