i have a 2005 freight century with a 12.7l. doing 7 mpg @ 65mph loaded with a reefer. how dast do you run?

 

My avg last qtr was 5.99 a gallon all miles. This is a 379 with a 3406e. That may or may not improve this qtr we will see.

I do think @Dave_in_AZ has a good plan as far as looking for the right deal. I don’t run near the miles and again I don’t see myself doing that unless the Gov gets crazier (is it possible)

I improved my driving a bit more from the qtr prior where I avg 4.89 lolol. I guess I was enjoying the straight pipes a little to much. So I brought it up over 1 mpg. I am thinking it will be better again this next qtr.

I forgot what @blairandgretchen said he got his last update with his 12.7 I am pretty sure it was better than me. That is with his big house.

 

I cruise at 65. 65 is 1400 rpm for me. That's about max before you start to really suck fuel.

 

I hear that truck wakes you up in the middle of the night..

 

I get about 6 mpg, 10 mpg would only save me 14k a year (80 k miles)
So youre turning what? 150k a year?

I head if the engine is on it will boost your rpms really high in the middle of the night. I'm not familiar with this new generation engine's just what a driver told me..
