Truck Number Placement, is there a regulation I need to follow?

I think you need to be able to read it at like 50 feet ??
Some shippers might want to see a truck and trailer number
I haul some military and government type stuff and they seem to always want to physically see that number and put it on their paperwork
Now I don’t know if just telling them the number if that would be acceptable or not
I have my truck numbers on the side of hood

I have the Company name, last 6 of the vin, fire extinguisher inside on box door, dot, truck and trailer numbers
maybe not all is required but you can make that stuff look good and maybe prevent an issue down the road with some prick or shipperLast edited: Sep 19, 2021
