Careful what you get yourself into.
FXF may pay OT but I heard they are notorious for keeping their drivers under 8 hours. This obviously isn't true for all areas, but it definitely was true for all of the areas I lived in.
Compare your benefits. My carrier pays several dollars less than everyone else in my area, but they shell out $14/hour worth of health insurance per employee. If you can get a better deal with FXF this might be a much better selling point than your current gig. Trust me, the older you get, the more this becomes a critical component of your compensation package.
FXF is probably one of the most stable companies in the LTL alphabet soup. Most drivers on here have been with them forever.
Chose wisely and know that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Or it might be in your case. Good luck.

Well if I left I wouldn’t jus the like “fudge this place”. Cooper would hire me back given I know half the routes; they’d only not hire me back if I did something or they were being petty.

Tenure doesn’t mean much at cooper. My terminal can’t keep the new guys, and the senior guys have worked here since the 90s.
If you’re inefficient at your route you get booted off of it; regardless of tenure.
I think they keep crapping in the new hires so they just leave.
Plus if I’m honest; cooper needs to get with the times. No sick time, and only a high deductible health plan is horrible.Last edited: Sep 18, 2021

Sounds like my old gig at USF Reddaway. Routes were assigned by competence and not seniority. It's a stark contrast to my current gig at USF Holland where you land a bid based solely on seniority.
Looking at your situation, you don't have a whole lot invested in ACT, so putting in an application is as good of a choice as not

Frankly, if you’re inefficient at a run you should get booted off of it, especially if you’ve had it for years.
Some would call the problem of “too much work” a good problem to have. From my POV a linehaul run after on a Saturday after busting my ### all week is a treat. Here is something you don't see everyday. I am at a shipper dropping an empty trailer and picking up a loaded one. I roll up to the gate shack and both of the guards are outside smoking weed. Like legit puff puff pass. And they were just staring at me for almost a minute when I go "uh yeah hi, could I please get some service". Then one of them gets up and fumbles through some paperwork and picks out a pile asking me if that looked like mine. "Uh huh, yeah, the company name on the pro sticker looks a lot like the name printed on the side of my truck".
