You are less than 45 min from me Panhandle
I live in Jamestown NY, just up 86 from there.
I have to go to Woodland today though, so I will not be heading that way.


Good comments on the lease qwkmouse.
I do not think anyone on this forum would ever tell anyone it is a good idea to lease from Central.
Also you should look at the people that leased from Arrow.
Arrow stopped ,making payments on all the trucks, including the lease trucks.
So even the lease Ops are all having there trucks repoed.
I am sure Arrow has been taking the payments like clockwork from the lease drivers, but how long has it been since they made a payment?
Central could do this same thing. Gerry has some money, but we have the slow season coming. I could see this same thing happening at several companys. And with all the trainees that Central takes I am sure they have a decent percent of late loads.
Late loads are a fast way to loose contracts.
I highly doubt that Central will go under like this. Swift would go first, but even they are a long ways from going under. But it could happen.

Creepyoldguy, Won't speak for Central but just in generalities. Anything expensive that you bring, be prepared to carry it with you. Thats what I did with my laptop and dang sure don't regret bringing it.

Geeze Chromedome, sure would have liked to have met you. Am sure it will happen 1 of these days. Sure had me confused tho. Took me a minute to realize that you said Jamestown and not Johnstown. lol
Going to be taking my hometime in PA this time around. Gotta help or is that harass my sister about hitting the big 50. She lives down by Lancaster. Wonder if she'll get me to pronounce that name correctly this time around. hehehehehehe

Well, I just finished the second week of Central's school in Salt Lake today. Next week I'll do the orientation and get put with my trainer.

Only five people finished in my class. I will say that in two weeks some of the students have come a long way, but then again we were such a small class that we each got two hours of drive time each day.

 

I had mine and all my valuables, folder they give you and my gallon of water in a backpack. I do HIGHLY suggest buying your water at the food4less near the econo lodge. You'll find out why. Lol

 

Hey CreepyOldGuy, I will be in Orientation on Tuesday and going to DMV with you guys in your class to finalize my CDL on Wednesday. The School is pretty cool, but you will definatley need to dress for the cold when out at the yard, been really cold, even for So Cal. I hope to see you there.
