Kitty litter doesn’t work nearly as good as sand or pea gravel. The idea is it’s something you might have around the house. it sounds smart so people always repeat it without thinking. Why would you carry kitty litter instead of pea gravel? People never cease to amaze me.

EDIT: excuse me if I sound bitter, I was just on Illinois tollway website. What a useless thing that is.

    Maybe because it's cheaper?

If you can get it rockin...roll back and stop and grab the Sunday Newspaper...if you can find one...lay the sections in front of the drive wheels and ease out...

It really won't work if you can't roll onto the paper, will just blow thru. I'd bet a traction mat would work the same way...

It ain’t cheaper when you’re calling a wrecker. Besides, if you buy a small shovel you can get a couple scoops for free at just about any gravel pile.;)
