Yeah, I do about 2 years of driving every ten years. I'm not actually driving now. I did, in fact, quit my last company largely because of the camera. I'm not as sure if I'll ever drive again because trucking is no longer what I got into it for.
The cameras cite drivers for things that have absolutely no risk of causing an accident, but are still enumerated as safety concerns by the companies. I do know I went a bit off topic, but my point is that Pennsylvania is a state that isn't worth driving in even more, now. The lanternfly hassles are just the straw that breaks the camel's back. I mean, even if your drive cam doesn't go off, you still make a lot less money there, unless you stick to the interstates and just drive right through. The state highways are slow to travel—slow uphill, slow downhill, windy, and usually have processions of cars. You only get 11 hours a day and 70 hours in an 8 day week to work; who has time to drive an average of 25 mph? Guess who has the highest diesel fuel taxes in the nation: P________a. And now, they make you stop and do free lanternfly checks, and you can get fined big time if you don't have all your paperwork done.
Spotted Lanternfly permit.
