Actually Whiteland, IN, south of Indy.
Google Maps is recommending that I take I-74 to avoid construction on I-70. Legit?
Indy to Akron, I-74 instead of I-70?

I have no info on construction. But use the 270 outter loop in Columbus. -
70 or 74 will be about a wash. Both have to deal with either Indy or Cinci outer loop then Columbus which can be a bear. Me, I’d run up 69 to US 30 across to 71. 30 is four lane with 65 and 70 mph limits. No major city to deal with once around Indy. Some one lane construction at border but usually isn’t bad. Some construction at Mansfield but if you don’t hit it at rush hour it isn’t usually bad either
JoeyJunk, homeskillet, tarmadilo and 2 others Thank this. -

If your gonna run the 10 or 15 miles that way, might as well come across 18,29,33 to I75.
I avoid that chicken coup at us30 at all cost. -
I’ve never much had problems with them as opposed to that creeper cop that works the rest areas just north of 275 and those jerks on 71
JoeyJunk, homeskillet and jamespmack Thank this. -
I like going up rt 67 ro 33 then jumping on to 75 to 30
There a restaurant on 67 that has truck parking and is open 24/7 ( I think it's 24/7)
But it probably take a little longer then just going to 30 on over -
You got that right. I normally would just say 69 to US 224 straight to akron. But 224 is closed at 53 in Tiffin for a few more days.

Could always try US 40 for a few miles then cut back up to 70
LTL Bull Thanks this.
