Hotshotting with a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500

Legally from DOT standpoint, Truck GVWR + Trailer GVWR = Registered weight no issues with DOT.
If god forbid you get in an accident though, lawyers will bring up the manufacturer's gcvwr and use that against you.

My truck, 2019 ram 3500 hauling 33-35k gross weight regularly, Stock non deleted 150k miles is in great mechanical condition. Had one check engine light that turned out to be a corroded wire. Its all about the driver, maintenance and some luck.
Also, electric over hydraulic has one major issue. Any malfunction or leak means you have no trailer brakes what so ever. Electric brakes on the other hand, if one stops working then the other three will still work. In my general opinion, all "hotshot trailers" suck and the so do the manufacturers. After my rig sells I'll never buy another hotshot trailer or a pickup truck for this business.

With that said and even though my truck is still in very good condition I can't recommend using pickup trucks to haul these weights. They struggle to stop and go, uncomfortable, no "living" space, small fuel tanks ect...

They made heavy duty gassers with air systems? That's something you don't see any more.
