I was driving through Atlanta(75 South) when another truck driver side swiped my right side passenger mirror with his trailer going through a curve. thankfully those mirrors have a pivot that can bend without breaking, so no damage was done. just a small scratch on the outside. I didn't make a fuss over it. this is why I never try to drive side by side with another truck going through a curve but this ####er came flying up on me. I'm actually pretty upset because I'm usually pretty attentive when it comes to making sure other people's trailers don't off track in my lane. if I notice they cant keep their #### in their lane then I'll either block them or get in front of them but this one slipped past me

my question is, next time this happens and it's actually serious, what exactly should I do assuming they don't pull over?

What if I'm unable to get the DOT# from the company truck? Dash cam will definitely show the trailer's license plate but I'm not sure how useful that is considering it could be dropped before any investigation is done. Do I just let them know one of their drivers hit me? Calling the police seems overkill

Happened to me on 285. People are in to much of a hurry.
Camera caught it and company handled it.
    Not at fault.

It won't matter if the trailer was dropped after the fact; there is a record of who has which trailer at any given time.
The company will have a record of it, and it will be listed in the drivers' log.

And it is technically a hit and run accident, so calling the police is not overkill.

Good reason to always have a spare mirror. At least one large convex type. Beats having to borrow from other side, when someone takes mirror out.

There’s a good chance that driver did it on purpose. There’s also the chance that you hogged the zipper. Not trying to be a buster, BUT…
    1. Atlanta
    2. Right side mirror
    3. Your playing traffic cop.

You’re running along, get passed on the right. You see someone on your right attempting to pass, you determine that he can’t pass you safely and so you attempt to block, but this one slipped by and took your mirror.

    Who’s at fault?
