Guys got a c13 and when I pull the dip stick the very tip of the dipstick had a whitish residue but the oil itself is fine.

I’m so confused my oil is find but every tip I put dipstick back it the tiny part of tip comes back with whitish residue

Probably condensation inside the tube being picked up.

Tells me its probably running cold or idling a lot.

Is there any blow by or steam coming out when it’s warmed up good. If the oil has any moisture to it that is the first indicator way before it actually turns milky

A pic and I'll tell you in seconds. Sounds like a head gasket, liner, or air compressor issue

Pretty sure CAT calls in oil emulsion. Oil fill, dipstick, under the valve cover and CCV are common areas it can be found. Basically happens when condensation forms and mixes with the engine oil when not enough heat is generated to evaporate the moisture from the crankcase.

Higher idle time and light load conditions, the worse it can be. Not really a big deal.

See it alot on the LEE and SDP engines with CGI and DPF.
