All the gang he used to hang out with are already dead.
Tony Bennett doesn't smoke or drink.
The 'Rat Pack' died off from heavy drinking and smoking, except for Joey Bishop.
Joey Bishop was a member of the Rat Pack, but didn't smoke or drink and after the shows would refuse to party and instead go home.

Sad.
If I found out I had alzheimer's disease suicide would be my choice of action.
I've unfortunately have seen many people die. Some luckily quick some unluckily slow, but this one robs you of you. Turning you in to a burden. Scares me more than cancer.
Nope, won't do it. Check please time to go.JoeyJunk, Dflip, NavigatorWife and 4 others Thank this. -
He really should've quit singing in the late 1990's. That still would've been a long career, particularly for a vocalist. And I say this as a Tony Bennett fan.

Sad! Pretty young wife he’s got there too! Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease. I’ve seen firsthand what it does to old people. It’s about is messed up and sad as it gets. Your body can break and fail you And if you’re strong enough you can still push on, but when your mind is gone, it’s ball game over.

Tony Bennett has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t know it ??
So he has that in common with POTUS.JoeyJunk, Dino soar, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this. -
Got to make it so that your not a burden after checking out. Disappearing into the sunset is the best way. Thought about it as well. Cant be a burden to the family.NavigatorWife and scott180 Thank this. -
I’ll be fine being hunched over, hobbling around, maybe even using a walker, but when it gets past that, my time will have come.JoeyJunk and LoneRanger Thank this. -
There's another thing about Alzheimer's that a lot of people find out the hard way. An Alzheimer's patient will often become combative. If they're somebody you really care about your life instantly becomes pure unshirted hell.
A normally placid and gentle soul will scream, spit, throw urine and feces at you, come at you with a knife, try to strangle you, try to scratch your eyes out, any kind of damage they can do. They can be very sly and very deceptive. They're good at getting outside and running away.
Sometimes they'll do all those same things to themselves.
If they're a loved one and you're trying to keep them at home and be their primary caregiver and they become combative you won't be able to subdue them by yourself without hurting them.
A person in the later stages of Alzheimer's belongs in a skilled nursing facility. If anybody gets a diagnoses of Alzheimer's, do yourself and your family a big favor and get some kind of full time professional care.JoeyJunk Thanks this.
