What kind of delivery process is this? Do you guys run lift gates or just tailgate the pallets and the stores pick em off with a forklift? Also is it alot of tiny mom and pop hardware stores, or are you guys hitting docks at the “big box” stores as well?

    Longarm and Speed_Drums Thank this.

Sherwin Williams stores only, when it’s slow they will also do Lowes stores too.
At the SW stores they tailgate it , but if the store is busy then they also run the forklift as well.

All of the above, and if you're a lucky dog you get a good ole fashion hand unload.

That was pretty much a winter thing since fedex kept delivering frozen paint. Also, Menards. That Dutch Boy's gotta move too.

Hey @DoubleO7, you been up to Bay City or Three Rivers, MI lately. They've fixed a lot of the hand unload stores in the last few years and I'm wondering if those two are still hand unload.

    4mer trucker Thanks this.

So all this talk got me to wondering and I went back and took a look at my 2018 year end and did some mathematics.
Firstly, I only did 83, not 88 as I'd previously said. My mistake.
My avg mpw not accounting for vacation and holidays was 2235.
I unloaded nearly 3.5 mil pounds of paint.

Maybe this helps? You weren't really asking for 'help' though, huh. lol
Well, there it is. Some hard numbers I guess.

RoadCall and 4mer trucker Thank this.

So 83k would now be 100k+, pretty #### good for being home every weekend and holidays

I’m considering SW but have no interest in running as hard as they do, that’s why I’m trying to gauge how the rest of you run. I appreciate the info!
