That is a lot of time together in very limited space. A couple former trainees became good friends and others were unbearable to be around. Some were anxious to learn and some didn't seem to think there was anything they didn't already know. Most spoke fluent English, but not all of them. Some were competent drivers and some not so much. One guy fell asleep at the wheel. Another guy veered into a concrete construction barrier at 50 mph.
It can increase your income but it comes at a price. Be sure you have the patience and personality for it.
Company asked if I might be interested in training, anyone done it?

I say do it. Statistically there are fewer wrecks with beginners than you might think. Beginners are very safe conscience. They drive slow! Beginners need quality instruction. My first day with trainer was the midnight drive to miami. Trainer went to sleep in bunk. Mountains Snow and sleet oh sh..! He never taught me backing techniques in tight places. I drove every night like a team driver. I am one of the safest drivers on the road but no thanks to my trainer. If you have experience to offer - do it. If you donr have experience to share, dont do it

Train as often or as little as you like ? Try it out, be open minded, quit doing it if you don't like it...simple
-
Just please don't become a trainer just for the extra money . If you are a grouch , or you have no patience , don't do it

Try it.. It's not a life sentence.
Some companies let you train after eight weeks. -
it's always going to be "thier words against yours" and 10 out of 10 times, YOU WILL LOSE. the company will not and cannot afford to go to court to fight those charges. you'd be the first sacrificial lamb.
you'll get fired, then try and find a job with either one of those reasons for why you got fired. -
Imagine making a harmless joke only to have someone report you for racism , sexism or hate speech . -
Couldn't do it. Teach someone how to back? Yeah drive? Sure. Live in the truck with another grown male?
Not a chance in hell.
The trucks are small enough my man I barely have enough room for my stuff and I pack light.
