I'm temporarily on a dedicated account, and this is one of my only two customers. Anyway, I dropped a load off and was supposed to pick up another, but my headlights failed while i was dropping the trailer, and it is NIGHT.

When I went inside to give them the bills, i asked if it was ok to park for a while because of my situation, and the recieving guy got very rude with me and told me i could not park here, it is a liability issue, and that i have to leave soon.

So it's somehow not a liability issue to drive without headlights? it's a several mile drive on a very dark two lane road to get to a truckstop. I mumbled "ok" and told my dispatcher, and he's backing me up. Thank god.

Also, this truck has multiplexed wiring and HID headlights, and when the headlights went out they somehow shorted into my dome lights, and so...I'm really thinking that this is something that isnt going to be fixed in a random yard in the middle of the night....

Maybe it wasnt so bad. They never said anythign about it after they told me i had to leave. I dunno if it was because the yard dog didnt care or if they got a call from werner though...

I must say that is the worst place I had to do a pickup at, I was always early for appointments and still had to wait over two hours to get loaded and the most I got at a time was two lousy pallets of turkeys in a straight truck. Your right that there no truck stops for miles away, I think the nearest one is on I 83 about 8 miles away. Hope I never have to go back to that ****hole place again, ok I'm done ranting for know.

Actually theres one about a mile away right on the same road its on, "the 83 diner", but its too far away to go without headlights at night.

I'm sick of being treated like im less than human just because i drive a truck. im not taking it anymore. im done.

The 83 is not a truckstop, its a diner with truck parking.

Never had a problem at ES3, showed up early many times and hit a dock in less than a hour. If i wanted to go to sleep i just parked it back in the holding area and was never bothered. Just hated the drop the trailer thing along with the stupid electronic chocks when the hilo driver would hit the trailer on the way in so hard that it moved them so that they would get a red light inside then stop unloading.

maybe i shouldntve asked then. but i was trying to be nice. I'm off that dedicated account now and intend to never go to that place again. Pretty sad when you're expected to drive away without headlights.

Mine was a drop/hook since i was dedicated at the time.

You should be carrying extra headlights, it's a 10 minute fix. All this bull you wrote for something you should be able to take care of.

Did you not read the entire OP? It sounds like he had wiring issues. Not burned out headlights.

People are to quick to jump on others without asking enough questions.

Why not ask what the problem was before jumping all over him??
