These are sad times we live in especially for truckers. Whenever I start getting down on trucking though, I have to remember the soldiers. They're the ones who've got it really hard. God bless em'!

Can I be your assistant when you find the job? :biggrin_25523: Seriously though, I'm almost out of cash and I'm reluctantly going back to driving. This whole industry is in the toilet and I'm tired of the bs, but a person has to eat..

If it helps, I went back to trucking. A bad paycheck beats NO paycheck. (and to tell the truth, the work has been pretty good so far. Lets see what happens next quarter.)

Totally agree, they are all in my prayers, including everyone that has to work or be away from loved ones today.

Merry Christmas to all and remember, He is the reason for the Season!

Arrow pulled a Preston! Show up for work in the morning and the gate is chained shut....except that they stranded people in the middle of nowhere. I see Daimler Trucks was offering a $200 bounty or a bus ticket home if one of their drivers turned in their Freightliner at a dealership.

Wow, this takes me back. Drove for them for 17 months and couldn't understand how they could hire so many stupid, uncaring dispatchers. Given wrong dates to deliver, and even rushed to get the load there only to find out that the plant wasn't open and wouldn't be open until the following Monday. This happened way too often and I being new just figured that was the way trucking was. I now drive for Empire Express and have never been happier, no matter who answers the phone, they know you by name and go out of their way to help you. If there is a truckers heaven I've found it. When you do your one year time with USA give Empire Express in Memphis Tn a call and tell them I sent you.

    Jmurman and Beechvtail Thank this.

I don't know what it is about USA's dispatchers,,, but they seem to segregate them to nights and weekends. My regular dispatcher has gotten pretty wise to their BS, so she does whatever she can to dispatch me "around" them. (long runs on Friday's, pre loads if I'm going to be empty after 5pm, sitting on a load if it goes past my house,)

I pretty much avoid night dispatch as much as possible.
