Volvo VNL jake brake don't work

    Hi truckers. I had an ECU replaced and now the jakes won't work because it wasn't programmed right or something...no one can figure what's wrong. So for now I have to drive without jakes. Besides the old traditional way of downshifting, can I use the johnny bar (trailer brake) as well?

    The trolley bar can overheat your brakes causing them to fail. Or better yet catch on fire. I drove with out Jake's in the mountains, I was in 6th gear. It sucked. Brake pedal switch went out or maybe it was the clutch switch.

    Mine has to do with the ECU coz it was working before.

    Apparently it needs a new ECU and nobody has one in the whole USA and Canada. They've been trying to fix it for 3 months. So, it will be several months b4 it's available.
