I have a simple question that I may or may not take a little heat for... I apply for my own authority on Monday and I was told that I get a temp MC number, I assume that I will be able to apply to get setup with a few brokers and load boards, would this be accurate so far?

I am well aware that many may be reluctant to work with me becuae the MC is going to be too new and I have not made a reputation for myself yet. SO in the mean time I am hopeing to find a carrier or two that also broker out freight overflow. I am not asking for specifics hear, I am just currious as to how you go about finding these types of carriers. Are you just cold calling everyone in the book or is there a better way?

Ther are dozens more, cheap freight is for sale everywhere. Does anyone think good freight is posted? It is too easy to move with one call.

Well im sure sometimes carriers broker good loads.

Check ALL the major trucking companies. almost every single one of them brokers loads out themselves. If they have a contract to haul for a company, and cant do it, they find someone else to do it...thats why they have that contract.

Im a company driver and actually just went and used a load board for the first time today, LOL. i was expecting to send a message to dispatch, "hey ch robinson has a load going to XXX, can you get it for me?". (i know they do work with cheap n heavy)
