Sobriety Checkpoints. These are a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment where motorists are stopped first and then the cops look for probable cause whether it's drunkenness or anything else. Michigan used to use them as an excuse to conduct roadside vehicle inspections but drunk driving was the reason given to set up those checkpoints.

Driver Accountability Fees. These were originally targeted at drunk drivers so most people were cool with it, the problem is the state levied the fines after the arraignment not after the verdict so you had some people giving the state money based solely upon an accusation. These fines have since been expanded to apply to other violations that have nothing to do with drunkenness because...of course they have, money you know. Saying this was about drunk driving opened the door for the scope to later be expanded.
