Austria is about to FORCE every citizen to get vaccinated... Sounds like the military will be going house to house.
They're gonna have to strap me to a bed and sedate me. If they even get inside my house.

I'd like to know what all these drivers that claim they will quit are going to do for work. There is only so much local work to go around and if loads aren't crossing the border there will be even less work.My bet is that very few if any will actually quit once they see their saving dwindle away to nothing.A lot of talk but very few will act.Malt Ball Cult, Another Canadian driver, skipgears and 3 others Thank this.

I agree, as I imagine they still have truck payments, trailer payments that will be tough to cover in a 9-5 job . I never wanted to get vaccinated myself despite my doctors orders due to health issues. Finally decided to get it. But I still don't agree with lock downs and mandates and I esp don't agree with choosing between being vaxxed or your lively hoodjoey8686, aaronpeterbilt3787 and dunchues Thank this.

Yes,,not like they are all independently wealthy. If they are the typical drivers working 70 hours a week they NEED that paycheck to keep up their debt payments. The last payment anyone renegs on is their automobile.

The vast majority of people I talk to did not want to get it but were coerced into it. Just shows what a weak and spineless population we have.

I know a couple who quit already. One went into oilfield work, the other some regional Canada only.
Was talking with my manager the other day and there’s apparently some coworkers of mine that don’t want to get it either. We’ve got enough to keep them busy on Canada only. But depends what segment you’re in and where you’re at in the country. Some are more domestic than export. -
Will freight rates rebound come January, or is trucking truly a bottomless pit, will be interesting to see how this plays out. Typically carriers just re-adjust contracts and in turn stall the economy instead or pushing to raise rates, etc. So the carriers and the nation will simply earn less or stagnate. Who cares about growing the economy, right? It's communism. Oh and the goberment will subsidize them too! Of course via taxation that comes out from our paychecks. So there's no worries, it's a great time to be in business in Canada! It's a centralized economy, top-down, they dictate all the terms. Uncle Stalin would be proud.

You may be right. Some will just talk and do nothing. I got today my last settlement emailed to me.
After being suspended without pay on Nov 15. On Monday I'll check if an unemployment support is available or not.
However, I contacted an OW/OS company to see if I can help their drivers with a pilot service. Richards Transport was the first to call. They may be interested. I'll send an application, my abstract and my resume next week. By Friday.
If they are not interested, I'll continue looking in Alberta. The patch might get busy next year. They might need some more loads. 'Might' being the key word here.
The 'wind tunnel' from Crowsnest Pass to Medicine Hat has at least one wind mill farm project going on right now. There may be more soon.AModelCat Thanks this. -
We are experiencing evolution, a clearing out of the gene pool. The species will be stronger once all the faux noiz sheeple succumb. It sounds like a lot of folks think intubation sounds like a good time.

You guys better get your vaccine.
I need my Molson now and then. Not as good as Budweiser, though still pretty good.
AModelCat Thanks this.
