Bumper is chilling at…….Cardinal Logistics.

Well I finally made it back home for the weekend. I was out 11 days. Feeling pretty good so that is a plus. I have spent about half my time in the hotel and the rest in the truck. Ryder was able to get the APU working for the heat and a.c. but no dice on electricity. My boss told me to just give him some time and I would be in a better truck. Im so close to 300K miles it wont be long. Well the wont be long was this morning. Actually Ray called me last night and told me to come in and clean out my truck before I went home today. Here I thought I had been canned, but he was setting me up. So I came in this morning and he handed me the keys to my new truck. We have pretty much all Navistar LT trucks from Ryder. I was expecting one of them. But, much to my surprise I got a 2021 Cascadia. 36K miles on it. So the bugs have been worked out of it. And much to my delight, it is minus the little fridgerator and the cabinet it set in. Just like the truck at my last job. So I get to put my dorm fridge in asap. Much nicer.

No apu but does idle all day and night and it does have a aspar heater, which my old truck did not.

Im doing much bette with the handheld Zebra unit too. Its all starting to fall into place. I go back Monday and come home on Wednesday. Home Thanksgiving holiday until Sunday. Back to the hotel and get ready for a run on Monday morning.

Works for me.

No I don’t know anything about the Pods accounts. I think there is one out of Florida too but that’s about it. Sorry.

 

Yes bit a usual not all things are as first told. I do still have a rental car but I’m not in a motel very much anymore. I’ve been put on the Belding Michigan run and it’s over 850 miles round trip so I spend a lot of time in my truck. But I like all of us is used to it so I’m not all that upset. Now there are guys that have been here longer than me that are on the Bristol runs and they do live in the motel full time. If that part of the contract expands I will probably get on it too.
