The way the emissions system performs the regeneration cycle. The ISX use’s a 7th fuel doser injector where the x15 use’s the engines injectors and injects fuel on the exhaust stroke.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Ok now it makes sense. I forgot to mention the most important detail... The ECM calibration is “pre-emissions”Vampire, Crude Truckin', little cat 500 and 2 others Thank this.

Hey Harpreet how’s your truck running with x15

Hey mate can i get your number just want to know how was you swapping went.

Hey there, I’m wanting to do the same thing. I have a 2014 Peterbilt 389 with a ISX15 that locked up on me and getting a good deal on a X15 565hp Can I run it with my ECM? What problems would I have other than the ECM templates? Is that Evan an issue. Thanks for your input.

This swap will not be possible while staying emissions compliant. While the engine is newer technology the emissions/ after treatment systems are not compatible between engine years. Your ISX is EPA 13 emissions and the X is EPA 17. ECM calibrations will not swap between ECMs and the ECMs/wiring will not match between emissions systems without extensive changes that would cost way more than what you’re saving on the engine.

60 series would be a better swap
