NO it is NOT the same May Trucking in Salem, OR.
The company that Greatwide bought is based in Virginia.

Still owned by C.Marvin May based in Brooks(Salem) OR.

No May Trucking is a privately owned company(Marvin May), self insured, owns most of his own equipment outright. Doubt seriously if hes in trouble.

When I worked for May I made alot more than 500 a week, maybe your friend spends too much time with the door open, As I recall my main problem was they seemed to like Greyhounds. They found out I was good at finding lost trucks, and that was ok it was the Greyhound Bus ride to go get it I did not care for. As far as the money it was alright, they pay onto a com data type of card so if you are trying to get the money to the house your wife better live near a truckstop she can cash com-cheks at.

I am a fussy driver, I do not want nor will I sppend more time in the cab of a truck then I do at home so most OTR companies would not interest me. May did not treat me bad, Mostly it was the Com-chek I did not like. They pay after every load as far as credit to the account.

They are goverened at 63 mph. But have nice tractors alot of there trailer were garbage thou. They will wash the tractor every week, but no trailer wash's.

May is a micro manage type place, they even have the headlights wired into the cruise control, when the lights are on cruise goes off.....get passed(which is very often flash your lights, reset cruise....rince repeat

Let me guess. You started out at May as a student and have never worked for any one else. Am I right? Well that means my inexperienced friend that you have no idea of what it is like to work for someone who will let you run the truck. Not them. You only Know how to follow Mays rules and be a good little driver.

If that's what it takes to bring home a paycheck then that's what you do. When someone elses name is on the door you follow their rules. Is this really unusual?

This kinda cracks me up. MOST drivers are out there driving and less than 1% are here posting garbage. Talk to the real drivers at the truck stop fueling, and see what they have to say about there carriers! DRIVE SAFE

i did a lease perchase with may , 08-10-09, to 11-5-09, and the best i can tell you is if you like making money , dont!!!
they give you $150 a week for scales and personal, then when you get your statment, you are always in the hole,if you termanate your contract, they send you a bill $1000, for not giving notice, and $3000, for early termanation of lease. also they fernish workman comp at the rate of $500 mo. for idaho, also you have to run the route they give on qcom and if your logs dont match the gps on the qcom
they will repo your truck and fire you. its one big JOKE!!!!
