I'm not an expert on 1099 but it usually means the driver is responsible for his own taxes. The employer hold out nothing on the paycheck.
Also, the driver receives no workman comp and usually no health benefits of any kind.
As a rule the companies that pay their drivers on 1099 tend to be bottom of the barrel shady operators.
There's also a line between being an employee and being considered a contractor on 1099. A lot of companies are using their drivers on 1099 and treating them like regular employees.
I'll let somebody...anybody...that knows more about this than I do finish the description.

You’re doing it right. $1500/wk with medical is a descent deal. If you don’t mind me asking, what year, make, model is your 2nd truck? And how many miles are on it??
-
If you’re offering $2,000/wk and can’t get any calls, there’s a problem with your ad. Are you offering W2, & Medical bennies? What type of work? What’s the condition of the equipment?
I can’t see you not getting calls when offering over $100,000 a yearshooter19802003, OldeSkool and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
Hey its an 08 cascadia with a series 60. 900k miles but i plan on overhauling it. Yes i know old equipment. But if i pay good with good incentives then i think it offsets that.GreenPete359 and Lite bug Thank this.

Good luck my friend! I don’t think you’ll find any driver help here but you got this.
dztruck Thanks this. -
Good pay can't offset an old truck that doesn't want to work.

40 hours.
-
Good combo.
S60 good motors.
What did it cost you -
Exactly and no company is going to let the salary driver sit after 50 hours. You, just like every other owner will be running that driver’s clock out to the max a week. Why??? Because it would be bad business and stupid not to. You want incentives? Pay per hour.Lite bug and Pamela1990 Thank this.

I've had an ad up for 6 months on this forum. $2500 + / week, paid INS, uniforms and cell phone and I can barely get anyone decent to apply! Goodluck to you!
