Thank you for the education, appreciate it.
I figured it was just a quick call, and done.

    It is slacker for sure.
My log bunks are 9'6" and although I am supposed to gross out at 106,000 lbs when only on 6 axles, but when I haul logs, they relax the rules, and rarely am i under 110,000 lbs, they don't even give me a sideways glance at 112,000 lbs, if i hit 113,000 they tell me to cut the next load back some, but don't do anything.

You can be wide if it divisible.....no problem. Alot of states you can be heavy and divisible aswell. The entire pnw is that way.

cke, Pamela1990 and Oxbow Thank this.

With the exception of round bales and perhaps trusses, what can you haul that is wide and divisible?

They’re shipping them this way in their own trucks claiming AG exemption. Saw two of their company trucks leave like this while I was there fighting with them about it. Told ‘em it might fly in TX, but not all the way to OH which is where load was going, TX to OH

Ohio and Michigan are like that with AG commodities, used to load to almost 85,600 on five axle combo but it was milk from farm to dairy. I don’t think AG commodity exemption applies here though as these are new crates they manufactured and are shipping to a steel plant in Ohio

Even if there is such a thing as a TX ag exemption for this, it would only apply until you got to the state line anyway.
Not that I can see there being one, but with ag everything is weird.

    cke Thanks this.

That load is a mess. I wouldn't have taken it. What did you do with it?

I haul a lot of equipment, oversize and overweight, but it cannot be divisible, i.e. made legal width/weight by removing an item. An Excess Weight Permit allows over 80,000 as long as one has the axles for it, and it conforms to the bridge table. This is in Idaho.

Wyoming has similar requirements regarding over width. If one is registered more than 80k and can axle the weight then no further permit is required.
