Its because they drive trucks because they have to.
I drive because I want to.
Look into how many politicians who have failed in life. Im convinced when your a failure, you get into politics.
I've met young men and women who hands down hustle. I Tip my hat to them,, and will help them anytime. Some don't know when to get in out of the rain.
Met some my same my age, met the same older than me. Met some in a nursing home. Every generation has lazy. But I do see a drop in desire. Older I get, the more I get lazy.
Its all how they were raised.
Is it just me or are young adults under the age of 25 just plain lazy?

As a millennial I couldn’t find the time to read all of these pages of replies the last several days. lol.
I was born in 84. I honestly am concerned for my 5 yr old as he was born into a 900 sq foot home, at 2 he moved to a 1700 sq ft home, and as a 5 yr old moved into a very large property. All paid for by his millennial parents rags to riches.
However, I intend to and feel like I’m raising him the right way but it’s a challenge for sure.
At this point I’m far more concerned with what schools will teach him rather then him having the “good life”. It used to be that college was the place to get brain washed with bs and to feel the guilt of being white and well off. Now, they are teaching kids to hate themselves and be guilty for being who they are. We have much much greater challenges ahead then being lazy. From what I gather most generations are lazy and no good until they aren’t.
My son loves farm equipment, trucks, playing outside, etc and I’ve realized as a fairly accomplished millennial that money doesn’t buy happiness. All I can do is try and raise him to have heart, caring, and that if you want things in life it takes hard work.
I will in fact discourage him from college and encourage him to think for himself and that anything is possible. The sky is the limit. If only everyone taught their kids the same then we wouldn’t have to deal with this victim mentality poor me crap.
Look, I’m not a huge fan of immigration to this country, especially the illegal kind. BUT, those who come here and will do whatever it takes to succeed, I can’t help but cheer for. Many Americans have gone soft.
My wife and I who have been together since we were teens, waited until we were 32 and 33 yrs old to have our first child. We sacrificed in order to provide a good life. Sometimes I get annoyed at these people who have kids just to get more welfare from the gov. All the while teaching them to depend on gov as they are victims for whatever #### reason.
Edit: I’m just a barely high school educated person who grew up on a farm. Essentially today’s version of a deplorable. Sorry, not sorry if I offended anyone.Last edited: Dec 5, 2021

Company : What would you do if you caught someone shoplifting?
Me : Beat the living hell out of them.
Company : Uh...
Me: Off camera and with no witnesses?
Company: We'll give you a call....
Funny, they never did call back.
Oh, to be on topic...laziness is everywhere. As another said...if you look hard enough you'll find it. It's not limited to age, race, sex, birth year, etc. Young or old, or somewhere in the middle there is a lazy ### mother something something out there if you look hard enough.

Every generation has spoiled the next generation That's the way it works.
The next generation has no idea of the sacrifices 1 or2+ back made to get us to this point.
I remember going to the woods to cut firewood, splitting, piling for heat. Outdoor plumbing, what do you think happened when it got full? No truck to pump it out.
No tv till 14 years old
Who milked the cows twice a day cleaned the stalls etc etc. Who cut the hay manually and loaded with a pitch fork. Who grew all the vegy's. etc.
Done with real horse power, not tractors also and you didn't just park the horses when done for the day, they needed attending to.
The new gen could never keep up even compared to 50 years ago let alone 100 years ago.
I could go on but the younger gen just won't get it anyway.
Just want to add, life seemed to be much simpler back then, but I digress.xlsdraw, dwells40, Pamela1990 and 1 other person Thank this. -
We grew up working and doing chores without getting an allowance. You had to do it and not complain. My friends dad's place was the hangout spot in school. Owned a timber frame construction business and had 12-15 head of beef he raised, chickens and pigs. We were always helping my friend with his chores. Did a lot of manual labor over there. Same when my dad had the quarry business going -
Also when I was about 4-5 years old I had this friend whose parents were helicopter parent sidewalk sissies. His dad gave my dad a 22 pistol because he didn't want guns in the house. At that time I got a little Honda 70 four wheeler. His parents wouldn't let him ride it even just in 1st gear walking right next to him. That kid is probably ####ed up for life

My old man used me and my brother as his personal cheap labor force the whole time we were growing up. It taught us that if we wanted money we had to work for it and it instilled in us a good work ethic.
