I just saw a Great Wide tractor, pulling a JB Hunt trailer, about an hour ago, here in Atlanta, at the QT.

Greatwide doesn't really have anything for an o/o that wants to be successful. I know we are in a recession, but we have been cut and gashed so much in the last 2 years... It started with this pta crap they came up with.. Now we are to an almost force dispatch...

Like the OP said they are a Landstar wannabe.. I was leased to landstar for years and did great but needed to be home more and Transport Industries/CRL at the time was a good job.. I new several people leased to them and there I went.. Then in 07 they had the rebranding we all changed signs.. Jim Hartman talked about how the job was going to be better have deeper pockets and raises are on the way... He also announce that Jan 1 2008 he would be retiring.. funny huh.

Well to this point there have been no raises unless you count new hires getting cut .03 cpm and a .01 cpm raise every year until they reach .765. These people don't care about the drivers or hell even their own office workers.. They lie to them and cut their vacations back... People who had 4 weeks of vacation are now getting the same as a person with 1 year.. Some time earned type vacation.. I wouldnt recommend GW to my worst enemy

From what I have found out and I'm still talking to Greatwide drivers whenever I can, the pay varys greatly depending on what DC and state you are pulling out of. You can go on their website and look up their locations, I know they have at least five here in Florida and only two are pulling for Wal-Mart.

Yes, I know they are mostly out of Texas and I do see their trucks all the time, but don't have a lot of information on them.
