Man this thread sure took a wrong turn. It went from a thread about a sucky company to sucky politicians.

Will never know if it would be worse. I do plenty of thinking & research as well. That's why I'm not a parrot for ANY one! From my "research" & thought no one that ran in 08 would have passed my litmus test, Except maybe Huckabee. Only reason is he is a Fair Tax supporter.

Back to the subject. You can't run a flatbed company in a country that is having it's industries dismantled right before our eyes. And all Americans both Democrats and Republicans have to do to is keep arguing and playing the blame game and 10 years from now, we won't have a forum to speak freely on.

I imagine Arrow was crippled when diesel went up to over $5 a gallon is some places. I imagine debt is what killed them off. And according to Bloomberg TV, the bailout is up to 27 trillion and both Republicans and Democrats contributed to that.

Was just reading on another board that Arrows web site is back up and running.

Also warrents have been issued for chairlady and C E O.
Failure to pay outstanding judgments and also an insurance claim that cost a life.
They are behind in the payments.
Plus they have a tax lien filed on them from the state of Ok.

Do not turn this political Arrow is guilty of bad management. Politics has nothing to do with it. They have not found anything else and if they do it will be on the news. As far as the poor stranded drivers, if you put your self into a situation like this and you do not ensure your own personal security you have no one to blame but yourself.

A OTR driver should always carry at least enough money to get back home and eat, if they do not plan for themselves then they simply get what they have planned for. No plan is a plan for disaster and you have no one to blame but yourself.

If your a married couple living in your truck, and you haven't put enough money in the bank for your future, you better get used to eating soup with strangers because thet is what you have planned for.

You are the only one responsible for where you are today good or bad.

hey dont think i mentioned this but i thought it was pretty funny
the other day i was at a freightliner dealer, and while i was waiting, i noticed there was an arrow skateboard dropped outside. I asked about it, and they said they have no idea why it is there or how it got there. It just appeared there in the middle of the night the day after arrow shut down. They said no truck was dropped off or anything, just the trailer that mysteriously appeared. The dealership knew about the whole arrow thing, and agreed with me that the company was totally in the wrong. They also sounded very very upset over the issue of their trucks... :D

I offered to take the skateboard home with me, and they didnt even say no. LOL. I bet if i wanted it i couldve gotten away with it.

    Don't even go there.

U.S. Steel bought the former Stelco in 2007. In order to gain the government's approval for the takeover under the Investment Canada Act, it had to prove that its purchase would provide a "net benefit" to Canada. As such, it promised to maintain certain levels of production and employment for the first three years of ownership.
According to court documents, the company promised to increase the average annual production at the plant by 10 per cent to 4.35 million tons. It also promised to maintain an average employment level of 3,105 fulltime workers.
A total of 2,190 workers were laid off at U.S. Steel Canada. The firm cut 700 workers at Hamilton Steel following the shutdown of the plant's blast furnace in November. In March, the company shut down all Canadian steelmaking operations, laying off 1,500 workers at Lake Erie Works in Nanticoke and Hamilton Steel.

US Steel shifted all operations to their US factories.
