It's only dangerous to worthless losers that shouldn't be behind the wheel anyway. I certainly will be writing the State's Attorney's office to remind them that the REAL victims here are the families that had their kin stolen from them by a person who hates them.

Are all those stopped trucks not getting towed?

About as many as scumbag OJ Simpson got. He was caught driving a vehicle full of his wife's blood in it after a chase. Another case that pulled the race card. If that was any of us we'd be fried.

I'm not signing anything,,,history has shown, "signing petitions" only makes the person signing feel like they are doing something, but actually does little and gets the "signer" in trouble too. I do agree, however, to be careful what we wish for in this day and age.

It doesn't set a precedent because this wasn't an accident. The moment he decided to release the brakes and continue down the mountain after he managed to stop and call 2 people for advice, was the moment it was no longer an accident.

okay you’ve all convinced me.....he waited at the top until google showed a traffic jam at the bottom of the mountain then he began his descent planning to murder those people at the bottom. He targeted those specific 4 people on whose cars he installed GPS tracking devices. His accomplice held traffic at a stand still until he could arrive on the scene and drive down the shoulder until the precise spot where he parked the broken down truck to make it look like an accident. The JFK assassination pales in comparison to this plot.

Every now and then someone asks me to back their truck in to a dock. Mostly, they are women and they are hired by megas, Hirschbach, Swift, Crete etc. Sometimes, I help, knowing that's dumb of me, sometimes I refuse but offer navigating by hand, which I am not too good at, so sometimes I refuse completely and can't help feeling bad about it but do know that's the best thing to do.
These people, unable to back in, are just as potentially dangerous as the Cuban. The problem should be sought at the very procees of obtaining the licence.
Ex WW2 veteran, otherwise a man of accomplishment , the former Governor of Illinois George Ryan was sentenced to federal prison for his, quite remote, involvement in CDL corruption scandal in the late 1990s, which was revealed after a horrible accident caused by someone who paid for his license, also killing a number of people.
Some of you people focus too much on the Cuban guy, instead of finding your wreath beyond that.
If you think that 110 years is adequate then I want to see quite a few others go to prison too, for at least 10-15.

I attended one of the most reputable truck driving schools here and my instructor would not take me to a truck stop and show me how to park between two trucks. I taight myself in our yard backing between hay bales

Well, yes and no. Backing a truck in a dock, even for the unskilled, is no comparison to an inexperienced driver going down a 4% grade for 7 miles with no brakes. Ryan was a crook and didn't need inexperienced foreigners, he stole from within. I understand your concern, and shows you had good upbringing, but you simply cannot get involved today. Liability has ruined whatever mom and dad taught you, they are spinning in their graves, but let's say you back over some kid that rides behind you while you are backing THEIR truck up, who do you think will get the heat? If you "just said no", none of that would have happened. It is sad, you can't even help someone, but hey, that's the way it is. Mom would be appalled. Today, the "nice" guy always finishes last.
