Most people are creatures of comparison and judge their success not from their own standards but relative to the success of people they consider contemporaries.

Sadly, most people are like this and most are petty and small. Just be prepared to set boundaries with them.

    Thievery!

Well, I stole it and applied it to my motorcycle club bylaws. We had members that would brag about aiding another biker. I explained to them the difference between a good deed and a righteous deed.
To be RIGHTeous is to do what is RIGHT…that’s to do what you ought to do. Aiding another biker, in the MC world, is what you ought to do, a righteous deed. You should never brag of a righteous deed.

“What then, is a good deed, Six?”

A good deed is one that is above and beyond what you would ever be expected to do.

Boy, I guess I missed some fireworks somewhere. Probably the politics forum. Lol

If the last two years have taught me anything, it's that I seriously don't value other people's opinions. I get three posts in on a vaccine thread before I'm like, "Well, that's ####ing stupid," and find something else to do.

Ah. I thought it was more recent. Oh well. My point still stands. People's opinions annoy me. Lol

Funny you should say that. I did local fuel delivery so saw the same coworkers several times a day. Of course with any group of people there are always a few jerks. As I found out more and more about them I discovered they weren't happy people and were trying to take it out on the world.

I've had some hard times and misary and it would be very easy for me to be bitter and angry. But why?
I prefer cheering others on then belittling then. Actually makes me feel better and gives me hope for myself.

This type of horse #@$% is usually perpetrated by the undermining malcontents that unfortunately seem to be everywhere. So keep your guard up.

Also as Triple said watch out for what I call the data collectors. They're not interested in friendship, this is a trait of narrsisitic people.

Those like the person in question often get their comeuppance from the rest of the community, and it’s usually well deserved, so if it doesn’t get too heated I’ll leave the posts up.

I know I detest the ones whose pickups I find myself having to do on a regular basis.
