Honestly, unless you're in an application that requires floatation I'd stick with wheels. Track undercarriage is a lot more to maintain than 4 tires. Rubber tracks kind of suck on snow/ice to be honest. Studded up a few tracked units with screw in studs. Seemed to give a decent amount of traction then.
Old set of Trygg singles shortened up work pretty good on skid steer tires too BTW. -
I was planning to get a tire machine, and run chains in winter. -
The maintenance on track undercarriage can get pricey. There's a lot more moving parts. I can go into a lot more detail, I was stuck in the skid steer bay for almost a year lol.
